Around the House

Poor Cinders can hardly get any peace or rest with Rebecca around now. If she's in her kennel, Rebecca will often follow her there, and open and close the door to it... or just poke her whole self inside in an attempt to get the dog to come out!

As has been mentioned, Rebecca is starting to stand quite well alone. She hasn't begun walking yet (I think it's mental more than anything now), but here she is, holding onto something "sturdy" and standing alone, LOL.

I was changing the sheets on the bed, and tossed all the pillows into the playpen to keep them off the floor. Rebecca fit just perfectly into the corner of the playpen. :-)

And... here's a full view of this very cute little playpen. We got it from someone with Freecycle, because we needed a small playpen that might fit in our room, since Rebecca learned how to climb out (and fall out) of her bassinet. So, this one has walls about 20 inches tall, is close to the same length as a normal one, but half the width! And, it fits perfectly beside our bed!

And... Rebecca LOVES books. Seriously, loves them.

^^ This is what she is not supposed to do with the books... vv

...she is starting, however, to sit nicely with even normal books with paper pages, and look at them one page at a time! This is quite exciting, since she used to try to rip the book as soon as her hands grabbed it!

I actually was in the library with her on Monday, and people were floored that such a little baby would like to look at books so much, and even look at them on her own! We checked out 13 or so books, and have read them all... I guess we'll have to go back on Monday to get some new ones!

These are the Fisher Price Little People books Rebecca's Grandma gave her a couple of months ago now. Every morning she pulls out the whole box, opens it up, and looks at every single book. :-) She loves them, for whatever reason... I find them to be extremely simple, and not overly engaging, but I guess a book is better than no book...

If You're Happy and You Know It...

Clap your hands!

Rebecca often will sit and watch what is going on, and when she sees something that looks particularly fun, funny, or interesting, she claps her hands for it!

"Dress like me, git free chikin!"

Chick-fil-A has an annual "Cow Appreciation Day"on July 10 of each year, and this year we took advantage of it! We happened to be given a baby-sized cow costume that day, and for dressing fully like a cow you were able to get a free combo meal. So... we dressed Rebecca up! And, we dressed Justin up at well... from head to tail! (Sorry, I don't think I have a picture of the tail...).

Unfortunately, next year, if I want to eat chicken too... I think I'll have to dress up as well. This year Rebecca's costume got us the second free combo, but next year I assume she's going to want to eat her own food. :-)

July 1st Dress... on July 4

My mum made Rebecca a Canada Day dress, but it didn't arrive on time for Canada Day, so we put it on her for Independence Day! It's actually still quite big on her, and will potentially fit her perfectly on her first birthday, hehe!

And, with this post, I shall stop spoiling you for the day with all my posting, and take my child to the beach for a while... maybe that way I'll get a nap out of her... maybe?!?!

Dolphins... and A Few Others

We went out for our anniversary without much of a plan, but decided along the way what we would do. We dropped by Krispy Kreme and got some doughnuts, then we went to watch the dolphins! :-)

Rebecca STILL loves Pepsi cans.

Rebecca got a Krispy Kreme hat! Hats don't stay on her head long, but we did manage to catch this one picture before she started taking it off within seconds.

Here's a picture of Virginia Beach in the summer... any wonder that we don't go down there in the summer?!

On the boat going out to where the dolphins were!

This is the other boat, it travels incredibly fast (as you can see!). We were in a nice tame little boat... that one is more like a joy ride type boat.

And then we found the dolphins!!!

This dolphin did a tail salute thing... they said it is either a sign of friendliness or a sign of agression, so they were going to take it as a sign of friendship, lol.

I didn't realize I'd caught this one, but apparently I caught it blowing out it's blowspout!

Three in a row!

That's all the dolphin pictures I've got to share (I didn't figure you wanted to see all 150 of them!).

Here are a few of Rebecca in her "high chair" that I made for her.

This was her first time in it, and I gave her this little plate of food... she thought it was great, all the food was the perfect size to drop one piece at a time onto the floor. *sigh* :-P (It was peas, carrots, and grated apple)

Justin caught the following three photos. She was making funny faces at him, so he grabbed the camera... and she started hamming it up instead!
