I have neglected the blog quite long enough, I think, so while I listen to the thunder BLASTING around here, I figure I'll type something up. I have some pictures I took of the kids today as well, so thought I might share them too. :)
We have had a busy year! Rebecca is nearly finished her Nursery for 3's curriculum, and Elias is becoming more and more insistent that he needs to have something to do as well, so I ordered the ABeka materials for him to do as well. I am starting to work on getting organized to start K4 with Rebecca in August (yes, I know it is early to work on this, but things are busy around here! It could take me that long to get it done!
Rebecca has been attending AWANA: Puggles all year, which Elias will be starting in the fall. Rebecca will move up to Cubbies in the fall. Funnily enough, she already knows a number of the verses they will be learning in her Cubbies group next year. I guess that means we're being successful when it comes to her Bible memory!
Elias is starting to talk more and more, he has been putting two and three words together on a regular basis, and is starting to communicate his needs and his upsets with us rather than just crying and whining at us. He loves to play outside in the sand and the dirt (and thinks he's helping me in the garden, unfortunately he isn't quite as observant as I would like when it comes to weeding, and we often lose real plants along with weeds!), and helps me around the house as much as he can. He even helped me make our fruit salad for breakfast this morning. :)
Anyway, some pictures from today. Rebecca asked me to please take some pictures, so I grabbed my camera and these were the result... and then I realized I hadn't removed pictures from the camera card since before Christmas. Oops!!!!
This was Elias' "CHEESE!" face!
And, the newest activity for Rebecca is, we got her involved in Gymnastics, thanks to Granny! She loves to flip, roll, climb, swing, you name it, and so this seemed like a perfect idea! So, here is a little set of pictures showing her doing a front flip!
I'm thinking formation isn't something they focus on at 3 years old .
I love the look of glee on her face! She really enjoys her "Nastics" as she calls it.
