My, it HAS been a long time!

More than a month, in fact!

In this time, I've aged a whole year. Isn't it fascinating how one can age a year overnight? We went to see some pretty neat stuff at the Living Museum, and invested in a membership there. We also went to see the new Narnia movie, and it was so altered from the book, that I don't really think it can properly claim the title "Prince Caspian". It was well done graphically, and for a war movie, but the book wasn't a war book, and the movie portrays it as such. How frustrating.

I've got my nephew coming here for care every day now, and he's doing some school work every day with me. He's functioning at around a kindergarten level, so we're going to do kindergarten, despite the fact that he is only four. I suppose that will keep him a grade ahead for a while. We're currently working on mastering the printing of ten letters (adding a new one on Friday) and mastering the reading of three-letter short-vowel words. I'm REALLY hoping we'll master short vowel words by Christmas... though... that may be a little ambitious! He still reads "sat" as "tas" every time, no matter how often we sound it out. He does that with a lot of other words as well. At least he recognizes a, the, and to though! His printing is fantastic too! DEFINITELY at least as good as his sister's!

We're going to be heading up to Canada on June 2, and will be returning on the 15th, Justin will be back to work on the 16th. We would be leaving on May 31, but we made a commitment to something else more than a month ago, anticipating being here for it, and then weren't able to go on our trip as planned because Justin's vacation time got cancelled on us. So, Justin managed to get the first two weeks of June off instead, but we have two less days in Canada because of how things all worked out. It's kind of a pain, because we're trying to work on importing two cars (mine and one we are being given by my grandmother), and we have to give the manufacturer copies of EVERYTHING proving ownership before we are allowed to import one of them, because they won't give us the import letter without it. It's VERY annoying.
